When did you last stop to think about the real impact your work is making? For most security and observability teams, stopping isn’t really part of the job. You’re monitoring dashboards, triaging alerts, hunting threats, and keeping systems running. And the moment one thing is resolved, the next one is already in the queue.

[The Sumie Awards](https://www.sumologic.com/events/sumie-awards) are your chance to step off the treadmill for a moment, look back at what your team has actually accomplished, and share a story that deserves to be heard beyond your organization’s walls.

That’s why I’m thrilled to announce that the third annual Sumie Awards are now open for submissions across five customer categories and three partner categories. Here’s what’s new and how to submit.

## What’s new in 2026

Now in its third year, we’re introducing a fifth customer category: **the AI Trailblazer**.

Security and observability teams have been hearing about AI for a while now. But for the teams living inside Sumo Logic every day, AI is already changing how you work. Analysts are moving faster. Investigations that used to take hours are getting done in minutes. Threats that would have slipped through are getting caught earlier. If that’s the reality for your team, this category was built for you.

The AI Trailblazer recognizes customers who are driving measurable results with AI. Whether you’re using [Dojo AI](https://www.sumologic.com/solutions/dojo-ai), our multi-agent AI capabilities, or bringing your own AI approach to the platform, we want to know what changed for your team, what you can do now that you couldn’t before, and what those results look like in practice.

## Additional customer categories

### The Innovator: most creative use of Sumo Logic

Sometimes the most valuable work is the work nobody saw coming. If you’ve used Sumo Logic in a way that surprised even you, we want to hear how you made it work. From tracking green initiatives to supporting AI innovation or solving a problem that didn’t have a playbook, tell us your unique use cases.

### The Defender: best security use case

Your job is to protect your organization while the threat landscape never stops shifting. Tell us how you used Sumo Logic for SecOps, threat detection, PCI compliance, or more. What did you catch? What did you stop? What does your security posture look like now because of it?

### The DevSecOp-erative: best DevSecOps use case

Your DevOps and security teams are using Sumo Logic as a single source of truth to monitor, troubleshoot, and secure applications and infrastructure. Show us what that looks like in practice and the difference it’s making for your organization.

### The Globetrotter: best global operations use case

Maybe you started in one region and kept growing? Tell us how you scaled Sumo Logic across teams, regions, or time zones to bring consistency and clarity to your global operation.

## Partner categories

We know that customer success doesn’t happen without strong partners. These three categories are for the Partners delivering that every day.

### Velocity Champion of the Year

Channel resellers, tell us how you’ve accelerated growth through standout sales wins, strong customer momentum, and close field collaboration. Where did you move fast and bring customers along with you?

### Guardian of the Year

MSSPs, tell us how you’ve delivered value-added services, packaged offerings, or integrations that strengthen security outcomes. How are you proactively protecting your customers with Sumo Logic?

### Collaborator of the Year

The best partnerships show up in customer outcomes. Alliance teams, tell us how you’ve helped customers modernize security, reduce risk, or accelerate time to value. What does real partnership in action look like for your team?

## How submissions are judged

For the third straight year, Sumo Logic leaders and subject matter experts will review every submission based on impact, innovation, and storytelling. My best advice? The winning nominations don’t just describe what you did. They bring it to life.

Here’s what the judges will be looking for:

- **Depth of use:** How extensively are you putting Sumo Logic to work across your organization?
- **Innovation:** Are you applying it in new or creative ways to solve problems?
- **Impact:** What outcomes did you achieve? Quantitative or qualitative, we want the real results.
- **Clarity:** Is your story clearly told, with enough detail to bring it to life?

## Take the moment. Submit your success story.

What I love most about The Sumie Awards is how the stories inspire our community. You’re hearing directly from the people actually doing the work. People like you. Your team has done it. Now take that moment to look back at what you’ve accomplished and share it with a community that will learn from it.

The Sumie Awards aren’t just about winning. They’re about recognizing the impact you’ve made and sharing a story that could inspire someone else facing the same challenges you solved.

Last year, [Genesys, SecureCo, Flexera, WGSN, GM Sectec, SRG, and SHI](https://www.sumologic.com/blog/2025-sumie-award-winners) showed us what’s possible when great teams and partners take the time to tell their story. I can’t wait to see what this year brings.
