Sumo Logic CEO, Ramin Sayar, reflects on the two-year journey the company has taken since IPO. Read his interpretation of how the world has changed, and what this means for Sumo Logic.

Today, we made an important announcement that builds on and extends our category leadership in Continuous Intelligence. This blog is to put that announcement into context for our customers, partners and the broader industry.

What a pleasure it was to see many of our customers at our Illuminate user conference, September 11-12. We had record attendance from customers, influencers, and partners. Our time was packed with keynotes, customer presentations (35 customer breakout sessions), certifications, sharing best practices, and time networking and having fun together.

I continue to be intrigued by the evolution of software architectures and their impact on business. In my 20+ year career, I’ve participated in four of these architecture transitions – the shift from client-server to the internet, the rise of 3-tier architectures underpinning rich internet applications, virtualization that upended the dominance of hardware providers, and now the shift to microservices-based architectures based on cloud infrastructure and software automation.

Two weeks ago, we announced an important and exciting milestone for Sumo Logic: more than a 1,000 customers are receiving instant value from our machine data analytics platform to build, run and secure their modern applications and cloud infrastructures. Supported by the platform’s powerful, machine-learning algorithms, our customers gain business speed and insights from uncovering application patterns and anomalies, speeding issue resolution, enabling deeper security monitoring and understanding customer usage needs – all from analyzing real-time log data streams, or what we call, “Continuous Intelligence.”

At AWS re:Invent 2015, Sumo Logic is excited to unveil our vision for the future of business intelligence based on machine data analytics: Continuous Intelligence. Given this milestone, I can’t help but think of a recent comment from one of our customers regarding the Sumo Logic service: “Sumo Logic, to us, is a bucket of answers to questions we don’t have yet, across systems we haven’t implemented yet, in ways we haven’t conceived.”
