IDC projects the world will generate 393.9 zettabytes of data in 2028, up from 149 zettabytes in 2024, with AI and machine learning workloads driving much of that growth. Sumo Logic unveiled this vision on September 22, 2026, in London, and is sharing more at [booth #823 through September 24](https://events.sumologic.com/gartnersecurityandriskmanageme). ## The vision, piece by piece - **Live pipeline preview.** A visual, real-time view of telemetry flowing through the pipeline, so teams can filter noise and route data to more cost-effective tiers or external destinations before it’s stored. - **Data pipeline overview.** A single summary view of pipeline health (healthy, issues, disabled), total ingest volume by telemetry type, and how much data was reduced before storage. - **AI-assisted configuration.** Automates the rule-writing that used to take hours and flags anomalies and format shifts as they happen, rather than after they’ve created a blind spot. - **Intelligent pipeline assistant.** Recommends what to route, transform, or drop, with a human in the loop to review and approve every recommendation. - **Platform-neutral pipeline.** Extends the same intelligent control to telemetry headed for external tools and platforms, not just Sumo Logic. - **OpenTelemetry-native management layer.** A single pane of glass to group, monitor, configure, and deploy [OpenTelemetry](https://www.sumologic.com/glossary/opentelemetry) collectors and pipelines, with AI-assisted configuration built in. *These capabilities are in development. Availability, timing, and functionality are subject to change, and the items should be treated as directional until general availability.* ## One platform, no gaps to bridge Most vendors in this market still hand data off to a separate observability product or SIEM as the destination.
