Collection configuration

This app uses the Universal Connector to collect activity logs from the Claude Compliance API and Sumo Logic's Claude Compliance Source to collect chat messages logs from the Claude Compliance Messages API.

Vendor configuration

To collect logs, you need a Claude API key with access to the Compliance API. Use one of the following options to create the API key:

note

Admin keys created through Console are limited to the Activity Feed and cannot access chat messages via c2c source

Console / API

Keys are created in the Admin keys section of Console Settings.

  1. Click Create key to name your key.
  2. Receive a secret access key and store it securely.
note

If the Compliance API is enabled for your organization, Admin keys created here are automatically granted the read:compliance_activities scope. If the Compliance API is not yet enabled, contact your Anthropic representative to request access.

Claude.ai

Keys are created in the Compliance access keys section of Data Management Settings.

  1. Click Create key to name your key.
  2. Name the key and select its scopes. For activities select read:compliance_activities and for chat messages select read:compliance_user_data

This section shows you how to install the Sumo Logic app for Claude Compliance.

note

Next-Gen App: To install or update the app, you must be an account administrator or a user with the Manage Apps, Manage Monitors, Manage Fields, Manage Metric Rules, and Manage Collectors capabilities, depending on the content types included in the app.

  1. Select App Catalog.
  2. In the 🔎 Search Apps field, run a search for your desired app, then select it.
  3. Click Install App.
    note

Sometimes this button says Add Integration.

  4. Click Next in the Setup Data section.
  5. In the Configure section of your respective app, complete the following fields.
    1. Field Name. Use the source category or collector name configured in the Source configuration section.
  6. Click Next. You will be redirected to the Preview & Done section.

Post-installation

Once your app is installed, it will appear in your Installed Apps folder, and dashboard panels will begin filling automatically.

Each panel slowly fills with data that matches the time-range query received since the panel was created. Results will not immediately be available, but will be updated with full graphs and charts over time.

Viewing the Claude Compliance dashboards

All dashboards have a set of filters that you can apply to the entire dashboard. Use these filters to drill down and examine the data to a granular level.

  • You can change the time range for a dashboard or panel by selecting a predefined interval from a drop-down list, choosing a recently used time range, or specifying custom dates and times. Learn more.
  • You can use template variables to drill down and examine the data on a granular level. For more information, see Filtering Dashboards with Template Variables.
  • Most Next-Gen apps allow you to provide the scope at the installation time and are comprised of a key (_sourceCategory by default) and a default value for this key. Based on your input, the app dashboards will be parameterized with a dashboard variable, allowing you to change the dataset queried by all panels. This eliminates the need to create multiple copies of the same dashboard with different queries.
