Appointment Supports Company’s Exponential Growth of Its Machine Data Intelligence PlatformREDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Jan. 16, 2014– Sumo Logic, the next generation machine data intelligence company, today announced the appointment of former NICE Systems and Merced Systems vice president, Jim Wilson, as the company’s new vice president of worldwide sales. Wilson brings more than 20 years of sales experience in the software and high tech industry to Sumo Logic and will be responsible for growing the company’s global market presence. His appointment strengthens the company’s executive leadership team as it focuses on accelerated growth, customer success and innovation. Prior to joining Sumo Logic, Wilson was a senior vice president at NICE Systems where he oversaw both regional and major account sales groups, and also managed the integration of an acquired company, Merced Systems, into NICE. Prior to NICE, Wilson ran sales at Merced Systems, the leader in enterprise performance management software, where he rapidly grew sales from $6 million to $72 million, which culminated in the sale of Merced Systems to NICE. Wilson has deep international experience having managed the growth of PTC in Asia, as well as the initial entry into Europe for Merced Systems. Wilson also held executive positions at Microsoft, Groove Networks, Inktomi and Parametric Technology. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical and mechanical engineering from the University of California, Davis.
