Every year, the Sumie Awards offer a snapshot of what our community is building together. In 2025, the picture is especially remarkable. From customer innovation to partners powering their success, teams are detecting and responding to threats in real-time and resolving incidents before they impact customers. Importantly, they’re proving ROI on security and observability investments in ways that matter to the boardroom.
What makes these winners stand out? They didn’t just implement tools. They rethought how security and observability work in their organizations, and the results speak for themselves. So let’s dive into the stories that caught our attention and meet the winners who are raising the bar for everyone.
Introducing the 2025 Sumie Award customer winners
The Innovator: Genesys
Most creative use of Sumo Logic
When logs are scattered, and teams are firefighting, innovation takes a backseat. Genesys changed that. They turned log management into a unified observability framework that breaks down silos between Support, DevOps, and Security. By building custom cross-team dashboards, they gave everyone a shared view of what matters most and transformed Sumo Logic into a collaboration hub that bridges technical operations and business outcomes.
With Sumo Logic, we’ve transformed the way our teams work — moving from reactive firefighting to proactive monitoring. It’s helped us cut resolution times, boost reliability, and deliver a better experience for our customers.
– Sharan Shrinivasan, Senior Cloud Development Support Engineer
The Defender: SecureCo
Best security use case
Protecting operators in hostile environments requires more than traditional security monitoring. SecureCo needed real-time assurance that their teams remain invisible to adversaries actively hunting for them.
By integrating Sumo Logic as their detection backbone, they’ve built a system that correlates cloud, network, and endpoint telemetry to spot anomalies that could indicate counter-surveillance. The result? A shift from reactive monitoring to proactive assurance that keeps missions on track and operators safe.
What we value most about Sumo Logic is its ability to adapt to our unique environment while delivering speed, visibility, and confidence at scale. We’ve moved from reactive monitoring to proactive assurance—cutting investigation cycles from days to minutes.
– Eric Sackowitz, CTO
The Globetrotter: Flexera
Best global operations use case
Managing observability across hundreds of Kubernetes clusters and multiple global teams creates serious complexity. Flexera was dealing with fragmented visibility across multiple platforms and knew they needed a unified approach.
By consolidating into Sumo Logic and building automated collector creation through Lambda, they’ve standardized data collection across teams regardless of their underlying architecture.
Through this, they gained comprehensive visibility across their entire product portfolio and streamlined global operations.
Its cost-efficient ingestion and retention model, rich out-of-the-box dashboards, and flexible architecture made it possible to scale across our global operations.
– Abhirup Chatterjee, Member Technical Staff Site Reliability Engineer
The DevSecOp-erative: WGSN
Best DevSecOps Use Case
Account piracy was costing WGSN real money as users were rehosting paywalled content and selling illegal access. Detecting and stopping them manually took hours, sometimes days.
By ingesting HAProxy and CDN logs into Sumo Logic and leveraging Scheduled Searches, webhooks, and Monitors, WGSN built an automated detection system that identifies and blocks abusers in minutes. The result? Revenue protection, IP security, and a single source of truth that brought DevOps and security together.
Introducing the 2025 Sumie Award partner winners
Collaborator of the Year: GM Sectec
Real collaboration means solving specific customer challenges together. GM Sectec, a decade-long Sumo Logic MSSP partner, identified a critical gap in PCI DSS 4.0 compliance monitoring and proactively built custom dashboards, use cases, and automated reports aligned to the standard. Their GMST Security Analytics service delivers PCI expertise built into every dashboard and alert, backed by four geo-synchronized SOCs. By developing automation tools that connect to the Sumo Logic API, they’ve reduced reporting overhead while giving customers faster access to compliance metrics. When partnership drives innovation that directly improves customer outcomes, everyone wins.
SRG has built the SRG Cloud Security Platform on a simple principle: “any log, any source, any time.” Unlike traditional MSSPs that limit ingestion to pre-defined sources, their multi-tenant model delivers visibility across cloud, on-premises, OT, and SaaS environments without limitation.
While industry benchmarks cite a mean time to detect of four minutes, SRG achieves it in 38 seconds. And through the Jacob Hughes Cyber Security Fellowship, they’re training the next generation of Cyber Guardians on Sumo Logic dashboards and SOC workflows.
Velocity Champion of the Year: SHI
SHI has driven exceptional momentum this year through strategic sales alignment. SHI’s commitment to delivering modern solutions and best-in-class services for security teams is a combination that consistently serves the best interests of our mutual customers. A great partner and a premier customer, SHI’s Security Operations Center runs on Sumo Logic, providing authentic credibility that accelerates trust and shortens sales cycles. When SHI recommends a solution, it’s backed by proven results from their own environment.
This year saw significant growth in the partner pipeline, shorter deal timelines for customers, and the most certifications completed across Sumo Logic’s entire partner ecosystem. When SHI engages prospects, they bring real-world operational insights from their own environment. Beyond the metrics, SHI’s success stems from strategic alignment with what matters most: equipping SOC teams with the right tools they need to succeed.
Here’s to the winners
The 2025 Sumie Award winners represent the best of what happens when innovative thinking meets the right technology. They’ve proven that with the right approach to security and observability, organizations can turn complexity into clarity and challenges into competitive advantage. Congratulations!
