As CEO, Ramin brings 20 years of industry experience as a strategic and operating leader of both small and large organizations, and has a strong track record of developing innovative products in both emerging and mature markets. Ramin joined Sumo Logic from VMware where he formulated the strategy for and built the industry’s leading private cloud management products. The Cloud Management Business Unit became the fastest growing business within VMware, with nearly $1 billion in revenue during his nearly five-year tenure. Previously, Ramin held executive roles at leading enterprises, including Vice President of Products and Strategy at HP Software, Senior Director of Products at Mercury Software, Director of Products and Solutions at TIBCO, Product Line Marketing Manager at iPlanet Software, and Product Line Marketing Manager at Netscape. He also serves on the technology and executive boards of various startup companies. Ramin holds an MBA from San Jose State University and B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

As co-founder and CTO of Sumo Logic, Christian Beedgen brings 18 years experience creating industry-leading enterprise software products. Since 2010 he has been focused on building Sumo Logic’s multi-tenant, cloud-native machine data analytics platform which is widely used today by more than 1,600 customers and 50,000 users. Prior to Sumo Logic, Christian was an early engineer, engineering director and chief architect at ArcSight, contributing to ArcSight’s SIEM and log management solutions.

As chief revenue officer, Steve is responsible for Sumo Logic’s worldwide customer and field operations efforts, including aspects of customer-facing activities including sales, channels, customer success and support, as well as professional services. Prior to joining Sumo Logic, Steve was Sr. Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations for MapR. He was also President & GM of Avaya U.S. Operations leading the go to market transformation in Avaya’s private equity turnaround. Previous to that Steve held executive positions in general management and sales at Isilon Systems and EMC Corporation, leading and scaling the go to market organizations globally for both later stage startup and growth companies.

Bruno Kurtic

Founding VP of Product and Strategy

Bruno is the Founding VP of Product & Strategy at Sumo Logic and is responsible for Product, Strategy, Solutions, and Security. Before Sumo Logic, he served as Vice President of Product Management for SIEM and log management products at SenSage. Before joining SenSage, Bruno developed and implemented growth strategies for large high-tech clients at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). He spent six years at webMethods, where he was a Product Group Director for two product lines, started the west coast engineering team and played a key role in the acquisition of Active Software Inc. Bruno also served at Andersen Consulting’s Center for Strategic Technology in Palo Alto and founded a software company that developed handwriting and voice recognition software. Bruno holds an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and B.A. in Quantitative Methods and Computer Science from University of St. Thomas, St.Paul, MN.

Aaron brings over 20 years of experience leading high-impact teams and helping technology heavyweights and disruptors elevate their position, build their brand and grow their business.

As CCO, Aaron is responsible for Sumo Logic’s worldwide brand and market position, including overseeing the following functions: corporate, brand and customer marketing, strategic events, communications, and category thought leadership. Previously, Aaron spent six years at VMware, where he built and led the global team responsible for communicating the Company’s vision, strategy and values during a period of rapid growth — $2B to $5B in revenue. In addition, Aaron was responsible for the market introduction of VMware NSX, the transformative network virtualization platform that grew from several million to several hundred million dollars in revenue in under three years.

Aaron currently serves as advisor to several early stage startups and non-profits who are working to bring new ideas to market.

Rick Hasselman

Rick brings more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance and operations to Sumo Logic. He led the finance function for Google Capital and also worked in mergers and acquisitions, leading several industry-shifting transactions including Google’s acquisition of Motorola for $12.5 billion. Before joining Google, Rick was a director in PWC’s transaction services practice where he advised private equity and corporate clients. He also co-founded Fugent, a leading provider of online communication and collaboration tools to the financial services industry. Rick is a CPA, holds an MBA from Emory University and B.S.B.A in Accounting from Bowling Green State University.

VP of People

As Vice President of People, Shea drives global strategic talent initiatives that enable rapid and smooth organizational scale. She creates alignment between business strategy and the corresponding capabilities required to accelerate success. Previously, Shea served as Vice President of People at Platfora, and Sr. Vice President of Human Resources at Wize Commerce, where she stewarded their renewed and dynamic culture through significant global growth, both organically and through acquisitions. Prior to Wize Commerce, Shea held executive leadership positions at Juniper Networks, Hewlett-Packard, Actelion Pharmaceuticals and Yodlee. Her career started at GE and Thomson Multimedia, followed by Citicorp. Shea earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Human Development from the University of Connecticut, and a master’s degree in Organizational Psychology from Purdue University.

Sandeep Khanna

Sandeep Khanna is a product engineering veteran with more than 25 years of experience. Most recently he was with Microsoft where he was responsible for all aspects of Display Advertising R&D, which includes product strategy, definition, creation, quality of service and maintenance. Recently, he was responsible for the successful transition of the Display Platform to AOL. Before joining Microsoft, Sandeep was responsible for Yahoo’s next generation Display Advertising Platform – Apt™; its creation and adoption across sales and other ecosystem partners. During his eight years at Yahoo, he led product and technology teams responsible for defining the strategy, direction and execution of critical initiatives across areas of HotJobs, Shopping, Travel, Local, CRM, RMX™, and Apt™. Sandeep started his career as an Operating Systems engineer and managed several R&D teams at WebMD, Seven Networks and Sun Microsystems. During his career, Sandeep has helped to create new innovative systems, wireless products, and industry platforms that brought billions of dollars of revenue. He holds a Masters degree in Computer Science and a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering.

Suku Krishnaraj brings over 20 years of experience in IT management, IaaS and PaaS markets. Suku most recently headed the Cloud Business Unit at CenturyLink as their VP/General Manager managing P&L & GTM of the Cloud and managed hosting businesses. He came into CenturyLink through an acquisition of an early stage PaaS startup – AppFog where he was the CMO responsible for developer growth (DevOps) Marketing & Products. Prior to AppFog, Suku was an SVP at SolarWinds where he built a high-velocity GTM and demand generation engine for expanding into adjacent IT management markets. Prior to SolarWinds, Suku led product management and product marketing functions for a variety of IT Operations management products with Mercury, Hewlett Packard and Precise companies. Suku started his career in Engineering, building large-scale distributed systems as a Software Developer with BFL Software, VeriFone, and Hewlett Packard companies in Bangalore, India. Suku has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Mysore University, India and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Ben is a seasoned software executive with 20 years of experience scaling high growth enterprise software companies.  Prior to Sumo Logic, Ben was Vice President of Field Strategy & Operations at Zuora where he played a key role in developing and scaling global GTM operations.  He has extensive experience in strategic planning, financial modeling, sales and marketing operations.  Previously, Ben has held influential positions at innovative technology companies including SuccessFactors, Salesforce and Mercury.

Dean Thomas

VP Customer Success

Dean Thomas is an experienced Client Services and Customer Success executive with over 20 years delivering value for enterprise software customers in North America, Europe and Asia-Pac. Prior to Sumo Logic, Dean was Vice President of Application Delivery and Value Added Services for NICE Systems where he led the organizations implementing the company’s full suite of business applications, as well as the Training and Business Consulting teams responsible for all products in NICE’s broad portfolio. Prior to NICE, Dean built and led Client Services and Customer Success at Merced Systems, the leader in Enterprise Performance Management Software, over an eight-year period, growing the team 15 times, from five to 75. Dean was responsible for the software implementations and the hosting operations that enabled the company to reach over $70 million in annual revenue, resulting in the acquisition of Merced Systems by NICE Systems in 2012. Prior to Merced, Dean worked internationally in services and consulting at Intalio, Denalii and Andersen Consulting. Dean holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

Prior to joining Greylock, Joseph spent the majority of his career as an entrepreneur. He was CEO and co-founded several companies including Vontu, which was acquired by Symantec in November 2007 for $350 million. Prior to Vontu, Joseph co-founded and was CEO of Connectify which was acquired by Kana and subsequently went public in 1999. Joseph also worked at Macromedia and Apple which acquired his first company, Trio Development.
Joseph received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he is currently a member of the Wharton Undergraduate Executive Board.

As Advisor at Sumo Logic, she brings over 17 years of experience from a wide variety of industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, defense, ISPs and MSSPs. Joan spent nine years with the Guardent/ Verisign/ Secureworks organization where she helped establish key initiatives around policy management, security metrics and incident response. She holds a patent for developing methodology to assess whether a communication contains an attack. She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She plays the role of Business Information Security Officer at Nike.

As co-founder of Sumo Logic, Christian brings 15 years experience creating industry-leading enterprise software architecture. Christian played critical roles at ArcSight from 2001 through January 2010, most recently serving as Chief Architect for event-based products, ArcSight ESM and ArcSight Logger. He led development teams that built and delivered the core of the ArcSight product line across server infrastructure and user interaction. He designed and implemented the core backend event handling and object-relational mapping frameworks, and was integral in the design and development of core product features such as a flexible framework for real-time query processing. Christian also co-designed and implemented a patented approach to display large result sets that change dynamically. Prior to ArcSight, he was co-founder of Gigaton, an infrastructure software company enabling distributed file management solution over IP-enabled networks. Christian holds degrees from Humboldt University of Berlin and Fachhochschule Brandenburg.

Sydney Carey is an accomplished Chief Financial Officer with deep public markets, corporate finance, and strategy expertise. Sydney has extensive experience in leading public companies and pre-IPO organizations, as both an executive and a board member.

A Stevie Award Winner for Women in Business – Best Executive, and a San Francisco Business Times’ Bay Area CFO of the Year, Sydney’s broad financial experience includes two decades of operational and strategic leadership roles.

Most recently, Sydney served as the Chief Financial Officer at Duo Security, recently acquired by Cisco Systems. Before Duo, she was CFO to the high-growth private SaaS companies Apttus, a leading, international provider of Quote-to-Cash (QTC) software, Zscaler, a global provider of cloud-based information security, and MongoDB, provider of a leading open source database. Prior to MongoDB, she served nine years at TIBCO Software, a multi-billion public software company, with three years as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Sydney also recently served on the board of directors of Bazaarvoice, a leader in SaaS social software and data analytics, and oversaw its acquisition by Marlin Equity Partners.

Sydney holds a bachelor degree in economics from Stanford University, and is a passionate advocate for female leadership in finance/IT, as well as STEAM education.

Katherine (Kiki) Haar is Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer at Informatica, the enterprise cloud data management leader. Prior to becoming General Counsel, Kiki was Deputy General Counsel, Corporate & Compliance, and was the primary attorney responsible for mergers & acquisitions, including Informatica’s $5.3 billion leveraged buyout by Permira Funds and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. As deputy general counsel, Kiki was also responsible for a broad range of legal matters such as corporate governance, regulatory compliance & SEC reporting, equity & employment arrangements, privacy & data security, social media & intellectual property issues, and international legal affairs. Kiki joined Informatica in February 2010. Prior to Informatica, Kiki was a Corporate and Securities Associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, P.C., from October 2000 to January 2010. At WSGR, she specialized in public and private offerings, public company representation, and mergers and acquisitions. Throughout her career, Kiki has represented clients in a wide range of industries, including enterprise software, telecommunications, entertainment and clean technologies, and investment banking firms.

John Coyle

VP of Business Development

John Coyle brings more than 20 years of industry experience and insight across security, DevOps, open source software and mobility. He is responsible for spearheading Sumo Logic’s business and corporate development efforts. He joins Sumo Logic from Sauce Labs, where he led business and corporate development and helped the company triple sales in three years through strategic partnerships and a major acquisition. Prior to this he was at MobileIron, where he held corporate and business development roles, joining the company after its acquisition of Averail, where he led all go-to-market efforts. Coyle has also held sales and business development leadership positions at organizations including Symantec and Opera Software. Earlier in his career, he was an investment banker and a senior equity research executive at JMP Securities and Merrill Lynch.

John earned his BA and MBA from the University of Notre Dame where he was an All-American distance runner in both cross country and track and field.
